Dear all,

World Radio Day was proclaimed by the UNESCO General Conference at its 36th session in 2011 and adopted by the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. The designated date was February 13, the anniversary of the creation of United Nations Radio in 1946.

Radio, as a technology, science, means of communication and programming system of audio elements, has its roots dating back to the nineteenth century… and this year we are commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Radio, and continuing with the activities also scheduled in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the URE, Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles, the Spanish member society, we promote highlighting these events and the link that has always existed between radio and Amateur Radio by putting on the air the special callsign AO100RADIO  from February the 1st to 29th.
